I am fundraising because Track & Field has been an important part of my time at PLU, and has given me several qualities that will continue to help me be successful even after college.

I am a senior pole vaulter on the Track & Field team this year, and am so excited for what the season will hold! Fundraising could help the team in numerous ways that would create successful students both on and off the track. One of the most important ways funding influences our team is through equipment. Last year we were able to purchase a new pole vaulting pit, which was very greatly needed. With the new pit and mats we were able to put our old one inside to practice on when the weather was cold and rainy. This helped all of the pole vaulters compete at a higher level because we finally were able to practice without the conflicts of the weather. Also, because we got a new pit, other teams are more eager to come to meets at our school, which makes them more competitive and fun! This campaign will always hold meaning to me because Track & Field is a sport that impacts you long after you are finished competing.
