We're raising money to attend a prestigious undergraduate conference to present our senior capstone research projects!

This crowdfunding project is no longer active, but if you would still like to support PLU Economics and student presentation travel, you can do so here (just make a note in the donation comments field).

The National Conferences on Undergraduate Research (NCUR) is dedicated to promoting undergraduate research, scholarship, and creative activity in all fields of study by sponsoring an annual conference for students. Unlike meetings of academic professional organizations, this gathering of young scholars welcomes presenters from all institutions of higher learning and from all corners of the academic curriculum. Through this annual conference, NCUR creates a unique environment for the celebration and promotion of undergraduate student achievement, provides models of exemplary research and scholarship, and helps to improve the state of undergraduate education.

About The Campaign

National Conference on Undergraduate Research

Four economics students from the class of 2017 were invited to present at the conference last year. They found the experience incredibly valuable, and we're eager to continue representing PLU at the National Conference of Undergraduate Research.

This is a great opportunity to network with peers, career professionals, and academic scholars. The conference also hosts several influential leaders- from business executives to NASA scientists- to provide valuable insight from their experiences. Presenting at this conference is an incredible academic and professional accomplishment that will deepen our vocational aspirations.

This year the conference will be hosted by the University of Central Oklahoma in Oklahoma City.

Meet the Team!

Our team is comprised of two students from PLU's Economics Department. We were part of the fall capstone where we each worked on a unique project, applying our economic understanding to an area of our interest. Each project had a different emphasis; Joel's focus was on opioid addiction and Mariah's considered financial asset preferences.

We're both looking forward to the opportunity to share our work with others at the National Conference on Undergraduate Research. Please, join our team by supporting our campaign!
