PLU Track & Field heading to San Diego!

This crowdfunding project is no longer active, but if you would still like to support PLU Track & Field, you can do so here (just make a note in the donation comments field).

Pacific Lutheran University Track & Field is aiming to send 48 athletes to San Diego for competition, training and team bonding. The team has not flown for a spring break trip before and we want to provide this unique opportunity for our student-athletes. We believe training and a meet with great weather and competition will help us be our best this season. Most importantly, traveling and spending spring break together as a team will help build our team as we head into the championship season and beyond!

Completed! PLU Track & Field: Trip to San Diego

About The Campaign

Spring Break in San Diego

The Pacific Lutheran University Track & Field Team is planning a trip to San Diego for spring break. The team will compete at Point Loma Nazarene University on March 24. They host a meet with great competition and have a facility overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Pretty amazing as you can see! Following the meet, the Lutes will spend four days training in great weather at Point Loma before returning home. There will also be lots of team bonding, time at the beach and sightseeing in San Diego. We believe this will be a unique opportunity for our student-athletes and set our team up for great things at the Northwest Conference Championships and beyond!

The Plan

48 athletes plus coaches will fly to San Diego from Seattle on Friday, March 23. We'll compete at Point Loma Nazarene University March 24 and stay through March 28 for training, team bonding and sunshine! The team will stay at a reasonably priced hotel and be transported by bus and/or van.

The Budget Breakdown

  1. Lodging (75 room nights) - $9000
  2. Meals (550 x $10) - $5500
  3. Ground Transportation - $2000

Total - $16,500

Note: We've asked athletes to cover their airfare at this point. If we can reach our initial goal, we'd love to apply any additional funds to their airfare costs!
