UW PATP 2018 MFA SHOWCASE TOUR

Every year, thousands of actors audition for a spot in an MFA acting program.

In 2015, of the top nationally ranked MFA acting programs, 136 seats were waiting to be filled.

Out of 1500 who auditioned for the University of Washington, only 6 spots were available in the UW PATP Class of 2018.

For the first time in over 20 years, the University of Washington filled all 6 spots with their first choice recruits.

We are those 6.

After 3 years of rigorous training, we are preparing to launch into our careers as professional actors.

We have the talent. We have the skills. All we need now...

is YOU.

About The Campaign

THE NETWORK: HELP US GET IN THE ROOM

As a working actor, the greatest obstacle is "getting in the room." This tour offers us a unique opportunity for streamlined exposure. We can carry these professional connections into the launch of our careers, allowing us to flex our skills in a network of acquaintances, not strangers. Your contribution means that you will not only be investing in actors, you will be investing in artists who will change the future of the industry.

In Seattle, our showcase will be held in the Glenn Hughes Penthouse Theater, the oldest theatre-in-the-round in the country. We will perform in front of our home crowd: Seattle theatre artists and industry professionals from Seattle Repertory Theatre, Intiman Theatre, ACT - A Contemporary Theatre, and Seattle Shakespeare Company, just to name a few.

In LA, we have the pleasure of sharing the stage for the 15th time with The Juilliard School's graduating class at the Colony Theatre. After the performance, we have the opportunity to meet and greet casting directors from networks like ABC, CBS, and NBC, and giants like Disney, HBO, and Showtime. Also, we will see the sun for the first time in 3 years.

In New York, we are showcasing in a whole new way. For the first time, our class will be holding meetings, auditions, and one-on-one workshops with individual casting directors, agents, and managers, putting us in the room rather than on the stage.

Join us as we expand our network, and donate to our journey as we hit the pavement and learn what it is to live the life of the working actor.

THE CLASS OF 2018

We are six individual talents. Our class is made up of gifted performers, writers, musicians and entrepreneurs. We are also the founders of Training Grenades Theatre Company, a Seattle-based performance ensemble dedicated to original work.

ANDRÉ G BROWN: The Heart

Coming from the East Coast, André is both an actor and a teaching artist. Before and throughout his graduate studies at UW, he has mentored, directed and taught young artists across the nation. He holds a master's degree from NYU in Educational Theatre.

TAMSEN GLASER: The Go-To

Artistically, Tamsen is a jack of all trades. She can act, she can sing, she can move, write, and teach. Born and raised in Kalamazoo, MI, Tamsen loves Shakespeare and... B-list Rom-Coms.

BRIA SAMONÉ HENDERSON: The Rhythm

Hailing from Richmond, Virginia, Bria brings the light and joy everywhere she goes. Not only is she an accomplished actor, but she hypnotizes audiences with her words as a spoken word artist and playwright. Her work has appeared in readings and workshops throughout the country-- from the Apollo Theatre to Akure, Nigeria.

BRIDGET MCKEVITT: The Business

Bridget's our New Yorker: sharp, savvy, and polished. Prior to graduate school she was the Business Coach and Creative Consultant to NYC's top Meisner Conservatory. When Bridget's not acting she's shopping for and restoring vintage furniture.

ALLEN MILLER III: The Clown

Born and raised in South Central LA, Allen is an actor, a playwright and our golden boy. You can be sure that Allen's sensitivity and wit will always make you smile. But don't let the clown fool you - Allen writes more, works harder, and digs deeper than he'll let on.

PORSCHA SHAW: The Soul

A Houston native and style chameleon, Porscha's fashion statements are distinctive and as highly specialized as her voice: sultry, smooth and sensual. When Porscha's not performing you can catch her meditating, playing with her dogs, or eating good food.

Your contribution means that you will not only be investing in actors, you will be investing in artists who will change the future of the industry.
